Dear Piscataway Families,
We are very fortunate to have caring, dedicated, and knowledgeable teachers throughout our district. I am thankful to be able to work with this incredible group all year long, but they deserve a special shoutout for Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8 to 13. Please join me in thanking all of our educators for taking on the tremendous responsibility of guiding our children from preschool through graduation with grace, courage, and above all, love.
As the weather warms up for May, we now know we have officially gotten through winter without having to use any of our snow days. On Thursday, April 27, our Board of Education approved a change to our school calendar to allow us to use two of those days to create an extended Memorial Day weekend.
The district and all schools will be closed on Friday, May 26, and Tuesday, May 30. Schools were already scheduled to be closed on Monday, May 29, therefore this change creates a five-day weekend. Please have a happy and safe Memorial Day break as we prepare for our final month of the school year!
Our third snow day will be used to close all schools on Tuesday, June 6. This will help to ensure the safety of our schools on Primary Election Day, as most of our schools are used as public polling places. District offices will be open on this day.
Very Sincerely,

Dr. Frank Ranelli
Superintendent of Schools
