Dear Piscataway Families,
Nothing is more important than the health and wellness of our students, our staff, and our community members. The recent news regarding bullying, mental health, and teen suicide reminds us how fragile life can be and how much we need more kindness in our everyday lives. All of us, especially our children, are facing many life challenges that may seem overwhelming; our school district offers resources to help all our families.
It’s OK not to be OK. It’s OK to ask for help. Our students may be struggling with many life pressures and they need to know that it’s OK to let us know. They need to know that they are not alone. I have had various meetings with our school leaders this week and we will make sure that our students know what to do if they are struggling with depression, relationships, peer pressure, bullying, or life outside of school.
Parents and guardians can help by addressing any major changes in your children and their routine, monitoring online and social media activity, and reaching out to available resources if you need help in any way. I have listed some school and community resources below for both children and adults. There isn’t any weakness in asking for help – we are all here for each other.
Very Sincerely,

Dr. Frank Ranelli
