Dear Piscataway Students and Families:

Welcome back to school!

I hope your summer days were filled with family time, exploration, and relaxation, and that you’re ready for an inspiring year ahead.

When you walk into our schools, you’ll see new banners on our walls reflecting our new theme for the year: You…I…We Inspire. This is more than a sign, more than a theme, more than a slogan. It’s a new beginning. A reminder that each of us has the power to positively influence our students, our families, our colleagues, and to positively impact the course of children’s lives.

You…I…We Inspire emerged from the hard work of our Board of Education. After spending a year studying the findings of numerous educational leaders, the Board considered how best to tie their values and viewpoints together to set a philosophical tone for the district.

In bringing You…I…We Inspire to our schools, the Board asks every district family to join in setting a tone that helps students make positive choices -- to lead and inspire by example.

And to kick off this year of inspiration, we hope every family will join us at Fall Festival, a district-wide event to be held on Friday, September 18, from 4:30 – 6:30pm, right before our first home football game. We’ll have a hayride, scarecrow stuffing, music, food, puzzle making and more. We hope all district families will join us at Fall Festival and stay to root for the Chiefs when they take the field at 7pm.

Here’s to an inspiring year – You…I…We Inspire!

Sincerely,

Teresa M. Rafferty
