PiscatawayREADS, a school district evening event, celebrates and promotes literacy in Piscataway each year.  This year’s theme is INSPIRE.  Students receive a grade level book free of charge from Kindergarten to high school.

Your children will be able to pick up their appropriate grade level books this week and next week in their schools’ media centers on a first-come first-serve basis.

They will be bringing home a pledge for you to sign that will then enable them to get their book.  They pledge they will read the book, think about the bookmark questions and attend the PiscatawayREADS event.

On Thursday, April 7, we will celebrate their reading at Piscataway High School with inspirational presentations and rich book talks.  Book supplies are limited, so please complete your pledge as soon as possible and return to your school’s library.   If your child does not receive a free book but would like to read the themed book from the library or other sources for PiscatawayREADS, you are also welcome to participate in the event on April 7.

All elementary students, grades K-5, must be accompanied by an adult for the event.  The evening also includes a workshop for parents.

The themed books are highlighted on the district web site.   For a preview of the books, please click here PiscatawayREADS 2016!

If you have any questions please contact your child’s school or email info@pway.org with the subject, Piscataway READS.
