On Thursday, May 26 at 7pm, Piscataway High School welcomes music lovers, jazz aficionados, and anyone who loves a night out under the stars, to enjoy a jazz concert on the high school grounds. Jazz Under the Stars features the Garden State Jazz Orchestra with a favorite opening act – the Piscataway High School Jazz Band and Vocalists.

The Garden State Jazz Orchestra was founded in 2010 by director/saxophonist Ken Zampella, who also directs the PHS Jazz Band. Accredited as being a "wall of sound," GSJO is an ensemble that tours the tristate area featuring a variety of musical styles from jazz and swing to Motown and rock. Featuring musicians with a wide variety of musical backgrounds, this jazz orchestra was established to promote the betterment of jazz education as well as to raise money and publicity for band programs in New Jersey schools.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students, and will be available at the door or can be reserved by email at JazzUTS@gmail.com. The concert will be held outside of G Wing by the loop road of Piscataway High School, located at 100 Behmer Road, in Piscataway. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the high school commons.
