April 5 and 6 Are Snow Make-Up Days
Posted on 03/23/2018
To The Piscataway School Community, Like you, I have been disappointed in the lengthy winter and the unusual number of school closings. And, like you, I am disappointed that these closings will affect our scheduled spring break. As you are aware, students must attend school for a minimum of 180 days and the district is prohibited from extending the school year beyond the scheduled date of high school graduation. Hence, school will be in session on April 5th and 6th for all students and staff. The Board of Education and Administration have designated these days as early dismissal days; hopefully we will have some warmer weather and sunshine, and you can enjoy a hike or a picnic in the afternoons.   READ MORE...
Safety Update
Posted on 03/16/2018
An online posting and a newspaper article are inaccurate in stating that there was a shooting threat at Piscataway High School. Early Wednesday morning, we were notified that a non-specific threat was made on social media in our township. The threat was made outside of school and did not mention our high school. The matter was immediately investigated by Piscataway Police Department. Later that evening, one of our high school students was charged in this incident but again, the threat was not on-site nor specifically directed at Piscataway high school. Obviously we are working constantly with our local police to quickly resolve these issues. Please be assured that at any time, if there were a threat in our building or directed at our students, we would immediately move into our prescribed safety and security procedures. Thank you for your attention.  READ MORE...

Safety & Security in Piscataway Schools
Posted on 02/15/2018
In light of yesterday’s tragic event in Parkland, Florida, we want all Piscataway families to know our safety and security measures and know we take them seriously in every school. Most essential to keeping our children safe at school is a welcoming school environment, combined with relationships built between students, families, and staff. It is of vital importance that students feel a connection to their school, and that parents feel welcomed and involved. All of our schools have counselors and a behaviorist on staff, and The Haven, an on-site mental health facility at PHS, is available to assist all district students in need of comprehensive counseling.   READ MORE...
