More than 30 new teachers, counselors and support specialists will be welcomed into Piscataway Township Schools this fall. They gathered together for the first time during the week of August 17, at Piscataway’s New Teacher Workshops.
Teachers explored and applied what the school district values in instructional planning and preparation, classroom management and instruction and professional responsibilities.
This new teacher cohort continues with meetings and guided practice during the school year in addition to working with a school mentor to support their successes.
Presentations from district staff focused on expectations and desired outcomes. The new teachers were given opportunities to work collaboratively and to ask questions. The second half of the week took the new teachers to their home schools, where they learned more about individual school procedures and practices.
Please join us in welcoming this group of dedicated educators into our district.
