Isaac Peng has been a resident of Piscataway for the past 23 years. He and his wife, Rose, have three children. Their eldest, Mike, recently graduated Piscataway High School and now attends Rochester Institute of Technology. Their other two children Kelly and Brian currently attend the high school. 

Isaac has participated in community service most of his adult life including as a member of a marriage preparation course (Pre-Cana), as a homeless shelter volunteer, and as a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was treasurer of the Home-School Association of St. Peter’s Elementary School, which his children attended until the school closed. With his children now attending Piscataway Schools, he has become active in our school district both as a past member of the school board in 2012 and as a community member of the Legislative and Community Relations Committee. 


Professionally, Isaac Peng has experience in teaching, research and administration. He earned a Ph.D. from Temple University Medical School. He trained as a post-doctoral fellow at Cornell University Medical College and was a professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for almost twelve years. Currently, he is the vice president of a privately held corporation. Including his years as a graduate student, he has 15 years of experience teaching both medical students and graduate students. His research has been supported by competitively awarded research grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Heart Association and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
